Meet The Therapists

Tania V., LMT

I’ve been a massage therapist for 18 years now and consider myself very lucky to have found a career which allows me to improve quality of life for others. Pain manifests in many different forms and it is my job to relieve it using one of the oldest forms of natural medicine in existence. The greatest reward is in knowing I can help somebody feel better and in establishing the trust of doing so in the best way I know how.

jorge2Jorge became interested in complimentary & alternative treatments over 20 years ago when he started working for a non-profit organization that taught its clients about the mind-body-spirit connection when managing chronic/co-morbid conditions. Taking a course on auricular acupuncture for detoxification of substances and relaxation of those addicted, led to further interest in various modalities, such as Shiatsu and Reiki. Jorge, being an educator, helping others from “in front of the room” soon discovered the energetic connection between all living beings while teaching and practicing meditation techniques. This eventually led to the study and practice of Reiki.

This journey led to Jorge enrolling and graduating the New York College for Health Professions in Syosset, NY, where he obtained his degree in Massage Therapy. By way of Massage Therapy, he can continue to help others on a more personal, energetic and ‘wholistic’ level. Being a Massage Therapist for the past two years, Jorge’s intention when approaching each treatment is being a part of the client’s healing process; by incorporating Reiki energy work in all his treatments; his main focus is for the individual to be left with a sense of relief, relaxation and rejuvenation.

“I have been a licensed Massage Therapist for 5 rewarding years.
My previous career required me to work on a computer all day, resulting in chronic neck and shoulder discomfort. Receiving massage on a regular basis helped me tremendously and was not only the reason I became a Massage Therapist, but also the reason I specialize in office chair massage. I know what it’s like to sit at a computer for hours on end. I get it, and I can help. I take the time to teach my clients about basic ergonomics and simple self-help techniques that can alleviate pain.
I also specialize in Manual Lymphatic Drainage which is extremely effective in relieving swelling and promoting healing after having surgery or an injury. I earned a Lymphatic Therapy Certification in 2011 from the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.
I love my job and I am passionate about promoting and proving the benefits of massage. I truly believe that it leads to a more healthy and balanced life.”

My name is Daniel Aliyev. I am 23 years old and currently residing in Staten Island. I am a Swedish Institute graduate from the Massage Therapy program. Nothing gives me a greater sense of joy than to see a client’s relieved expression on their face . I find that as an LMT, the facilitation of healing is not only one of the best things you can do for someone else, but it is also a very centering notion for oneself. My specialty lies in being able to connect to a client on an energetic level first, before engaging physical tissue. The most crucial facet of massage, is building trust with your client because it is the foundation to the healing process. One can not truly open up into a space of healing if their mind is uncomfortable and not at rest. My biggest virtue is the be a trust worthy person. Other things about me: I speak Russian, I perform Fire Poi spinning as well as teach the art of Poi, I also practice the Japanese skill toy called Kendama.
